The gallery at [kaitoi.io/stations](https://kaitoi.io/stations/) helps people find
published Stations. Making a Station live and having its gallery card approved
are separate steps.

## Compare the candidate and the public card

Send changes submits a new description or cover for review. The previously approved card remains public while that candidate is pending. An approved replacement can appear after the gallery refreshes. Take out of gallery removes discovery; Take down Station stops the runnable link. Eligibility still requires a live Station available to anyone signed in. The example cards and review control submit nothing.

The Plant Portraits Station S1 candidate uses a new editorial cover while its old plant-photo cover remains public during review. The approval example swaps only the gallery card after review.

## Prepare a card

Open the source project's **Station → Access** tab. Under Gallery:

1. Write a short explanation in **What it makes**, up to 160 characters.
2. Pick an image or video cover from the results row.
3. Check the large preview, then click **Submit to gallery**.

Both a description and a cover are needed. Cover choices include supported
project image/video results and your own Station run results, newest first.
Run the graph to make choices if none exist. New saved results can appear while
the panel remains open. **Use selected node** can choose the image or video the
selected graph node is showing.

A video cover becomes a short silent clip and a still. Choose a result that
shows the tool's purpose clearly, and avoid private material you do not intend
to show publicly.

## Wait for review

Submitting sends the card for review; it does not list it immediately. The panel
reports approval or a refusal reason. Correct the description or cover and
resubmit when appropriate.

Once listed, the green **Listed on kaitoi.io** chip opens the gallery in a new
tab. Use it to check the visitor-facing card.

## Change a listed card

Edit the description or pick another cover, then click **Send changes**. The
currently approved card stays visible while the replacement is reviewed.
After approval the card updates; allow time for the public gallery to refresh.

Publishing another Station version does not itself submit another card review.
The Station must remain eligible: live and available to anyone signed in.
Invitation-only, taken-down, and otherwise ineligible Stations do not show.

## Remove the listing

Use **Take out of gallery** and confirm to withdraw the card. Gallery caching
can delay its disappearance. This removes the discovery listing; use **Take
down Station** when the runnable Station link must also stop working.

## Review the approved card and the candidate

**Candidate:** choose the description and cover, then Submit to gallery or
Send changes. **Approved:** the currently approved card stays visible while a
replacement is reviewed; the green Listed on kaitoi.io chip opens the gallery.
**Withdraw:** Take out of gallery removes discovery, not the runnable Station
link.

## Checks and next steps

Use the large cover preview to check which image or video is selected
before submitting. A project run or autosaved result can add a cover choice
without closing the panel; still inspect the actual tile and preview rather
than assuming the currently displayed cover changed.

After **Send changes**, distinguish the submitted candidate from the
currently approved card. Review can accept or refuse the candidate, and the
public website can cache the previous card temporarily. Check the resulting
listing through **Listed on kaitoi.io** when approval is reported.

Withdrawal, taking down the Station, and changing a version have different
effects. Use the specific control for the result you want instead of deleting
the source project to hide a gallery card.
